ROME – A conceptual music composition of the American musician and composer John Heineman will be presented on April 24 at Tor Vergata University, Rome.

 It will form part of the Springtime Study Concert, directed by Giorgio Nottoli and Giovanni Costantini, which celebrates INAD 2018 (International Noise Awareness Day).

NAPLES – Eight members of the Neapolitan criminal organisation, the Camorra, have been arrested following a breakaway from the group’s leadership to enter the illegal drug trade. The unendorsed split, while their leader was behind bars, led to fatal armed clashes after the secessionists refused to reunite the group.

 In the absence of the boss, Francesco Mallardo, several members founded the “Catuogno-Di Biase” clan, in an unauthorised divorce which was promptly banned by Mallardo upon his release in 2014.

ROME - The Euro-Gulf Information Centre (EGIC) hosted a discussion on the Yemen conflict, now labelled as the “worst humanitarian crisis facing the modern world,” in an attempt to offer insight into this “forgotten war.”

 The international community has condemned the conflict, however despite the severity of the situation and the high number of civilian deaths, it has only received a fraction of the attention it deserves. Worsened by corruption, unemployment, and food scarcity, it shows no sign of ending any time soon.

ROME – Thursday's dazzling first night performance of Shakespeare's tragi-historic play Richard III at the Teatro Arciliuto near Piazza Navona proved a huge success. The dynamic, all-female cast did a fabulous job of injecting a sense of masculinity into the show, as well as successfully interpreting the female roles.

 The play, directed by Douglas Dean and produced by Gaby Ford Productions with performances to April 15, takes place in an intimate setting where everyone in the audience gets a fantastic view of the actors’ magnetic performance.
