 ROME – The investigation of IFAD’s communications manager for alleged workplace harassment of staffers in her team has struck a chord with colleagues at sister agency FAO following the disclosure that yet another executive expected to head the FAO HR department was himself probed for alleged workplace harassment in the past, FAO sources say.

  ROME -- An elderly woman hit three cyclists during the 29th Sportful Dolomiti Race in Belluno, claiming she was “late for mass” according to local authorities. 

  Reports indicate that the woman, a local resident, drove her Peugeot in the opposite direction to the flow of cyclists, hitting three participants. Despite attempts by authorities and volunteers to stop her with a roadblock, she continued driving. When eventually halted by the police, the woman explained, “I wanted to go to mass, and I was late.””.

  ROME -- Ilaria Salis, recently elected to the European Parliament, has returned to Italy after being released by Hungarian authorities, her father has said.. 

  Salis was arrested in Budapest in 2023, accused of attacking three neo-Nazis who participated in the “Day of Honour”. After winning 176,000 votes in the European Elections , the Hungarian judge suspended Salis’ trial, which could have landed her 24 years behind bars. On Saturday she returned to her parents’ house in Monza, after being under house arrest in Budapest since May 23.

 The match started poorly for the Italians when Nedim Bajrami scored for Albania after just 23 seconds, breaking the record for the fastest goal scored at the Euros.

 ROME – Italy emerged victorious at the top of the medal table for the European Athletic Championships which were held at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, with 11 gold medals.

 Italy claimed 24 medals in total, 11 of which were gold, nine silver and four bronze. Second place France trailed behind with four gold medals and 16 in total.
