Deadline day drama: Akanji to Inter, Rabiot returns and Roma come up short

ROME – Despite various options, AS Roma manager Gasperini left disappointed after unsuccessful deadline day, missing out on key targets Santiago Gimenez from AC Milan and youngster Tyrique George from Chelsea.
AC Milan bid farewell to winger Samuel Chukwueze, as he makes his way to Fulham, to join former AS Roma target George in a new look front line at Craven Cottage. Alejandro Jiménez follows in Chukwueze’s footsteps with a move to the UK, as the Spanish fullback signs for Bournemouth. Meanwhile, the Rossineri have bolstered their defence with the signing of David Odogu from Wolfsburg, whilst they have also confirmed a 4 year contract with midfielder Adrien Rabiot, who makes his return to Italy.
Napoli strengthened their ranks with the signing of striker Rasmus Hojlund from Manchester United, hoping that he can return to his previous form and excel for the Azzurri, as Scott McTominay has since his move away from Manchester.
Cagliari have singed Andrea Belotti, confirming the attacker’s return to the Serie A.
Sassuolo have reinforced their attack too with the signing of Walid Cheddira.
Nico Zaniolo has passed his medical and confirmed a move to Udinese, brining the young Italian back to his home country after a period in Turkey.
AS Roma fail to get things over the line with Gimenez, one of their main targets, and so the attacker will remain at AC Milan. The Giallorossi also managed to miss out on 19 year old attacker Tyrique George, as the winger makes move to Fulham instead.
Juventus have been exchanging attackers, as they sign both the Kosovan winger Edon Zhegrova from French side Lille, and exciting forward Lois Openda from RB Leipzig, whilst they say goodbye to Kolo Muani who moves to Tottenham Hotspur.
Internazionale have confirmed that Benjamin Pavard will leave the club and head back to France as he signs for Marseille. They replace him with the signing of Manuel Akanji, who has confirmed his move to Milan for the rest of the season from Manchester City.
Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has signed for Manchester City on a long-term deal after they said farewell to Éderson.
Spanish centre back Raul Albiol will return to the Serie A after he confirms his move to Pisa.
