ROME – AS Roma fans honoured the memory of Beatrice Bellucci, 20, who was killed in a car crash on Saturday evening by dedicating banners to her during their clash against Parma on Wednesday evening.

 Bellucci died in a car crash on Via Cristoforo Colombo, Rome, on Oct. 25. The car she was travelling in was hit by another car travelling at speed, causing it to spin off the road and hit a tree. Allegedly the other car involved in the crash was taking part in a drag race, however the driver denies this accusation. 

ROME – Five million Italians own guns and would be willing to use them to protect themselves from burglaries and the amount is set to increase, according to the most recent Censis-Verisure report quoted in Il Messaggero. 

 PADUA --  A restoration project kicked off this month to dismantle, relocate and restore Donatello’s Erasmo da Narni, known as “Il Gattamelata” in front of the Pontifical Basilica of Saint Anthony. The oldest surviving equestrian statue to be cast in bronze since classical antiquity, Donatello’s Il Gattamelata is a tribute to the captain general of the Venetian army laid to rest in the Basilica in 1458. 

 ROME – Locals in the Eternal City have taken umbrage after the price of macchiatos in the city centre has increased and for the first time in centuries now costs Italian coffee addicts more than a fix of Espresso, Il Messaggero reported.
