AS Roma mourns fan killed in drag race crash

ROME – AS Roma fans honoured the memory of Beatrice Bellucci, 20, who was killed in a car crash on Saturday evening by dedicating banners to her during their clash against Parma on Wednesday evening.
Bellucci died in a car crash on Via Cristoforo Colombo, Rome, on Oct. 25. The car she was travelling in was hit by another car travelling at speed, causing it to spin off the road and hit a tree. Allegedly the other car involved in the crash was taking part in a drag race, however the driver denies this accusation.
Although Bellucci was taken to hospital, she died shortly after. The three other people involved in the crash remain in critical condition.
AS Roma fans in the Curva Sud unfurled banners that read “an angel amongst our colours”, “goodbye Beatrice” and “Rome mourns you, goodbye Bea.” As well as the banners, fans of the Giallorossi applauded her memory in the 22nd minute of the game and her photo was shown on the stadium scoreboards. The 20-year-old was a big fan of AS Roma.
The Roman club beat Parma 2-1 to move to the top of Serie A.
