Lazio among regions to become yellow from Monday

ROME - The minister of health, Roberto Speranza, has announced that from Monday ten more regions will be joining those already in yellow, while the only two remaining red zones, Sicily and the province of Bolzano, are to become orange.

The ten new regions qualifying for the looser restrictions of the yellow zone are Abbruzzo, Calabria, Emilia Romagna, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Lazio, Liguria, Marche, Piedmont, Valle d’Aosta, Veneto and Lombardy. From Monday all of Italy will be yellow bar five areas, Puglia, Sardinia, Umbria, Sicily and the province of Bolzano.

These changes will be put into place following evidence of a decrease R number in the regions becoming yellow.

Regions in yellow will be allowed to open restaurants until 6:00pm, with tables of four people maximum, and until 10:00 bars serving food will be allowed to serve to take away. All shops can open, apart from shopping malls on the weekedn, and museums are allowed to open during the week.

Some rules will not change, however, including the 10:00pm to 5:00am curfew and the ban on movement between regions. Movement from one town to another is allowed.

Experts have warned however, that we are still in a delicate phase and the virus can still spread quickly if we aren’t careful and don’t follow the regulations.
