Vatican officials suspended in finances investigation

VATICAN – Five Vatican officials have been suspended in relation to an investigation into financial irregularities, reports La Repubblica.
Two of these are especially well-known: Mauro Carlino, head of an information and documentation office, and Tommaso Di Ruzza, director of the Financial Information Authority.
The financial activities being investigated, reports L’Espresso, include the purchase of real estate abroad, particularly valuable properties in London.
According to the Corriere della Sera, this included spending 200 million euros on a luxury house in Sloane Square, London.
