'Processi 144' celebrates Spanish Royal Academy

ROME –The work of the 24 artists and researchers of the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome will be displayed on June 22. The exhibition, entitled “Processi 144” will take place in the Spazi di San Pietro in Montorio in Rome.

 For 144 years, the Academy has been training generations of Spanish artists and intellectuals. Grants are provided each year and give the opportunity to 24 researchers and artists to strengthen their trajectory in their discipline.

 The 2016-2017 projects will be officially presented on June 22 at 8PM. From photography to cinema, paintings to design objects, this unique exhibition will be an opportunity to give free reign to your artistic thought.

 “Processi 144” gathers projects created about the Italian Peninsula, especially Rome, both in regards to its ancient and contemporary dimensions. Visual art will take pride of place with projects “Il grande Banchetto by Rosalía Banet, “Water With An Attitude: Le Piene by Laura F. Gibellini, among others. Figurative art variants will be represented by the audio-visual concept “Tema y variaciones (Themes and variations) by Mercedes Jaén Ruiz.

 Photography and cinema, as a means to present Rome’s true identity, is part of projects by Aitor Lara and Caldio Sotolongo , including “La carta geografica come metodo per ritrovare gli spazi urbani(The geographical map as a way to bring back urban spaces.)

 Comics and graphic novels will also be present in the exhibition with works by Tyto Alba, Los Bravú, Joan Casaramona Gual and Antonia Santolaya.

 Anna Lombardía will be the only artist to propose a musical project “Son Regina, e sono amante while fashion will be represented by Victor Resco and Irene Cantero.

 The projects will then be conveyed to Madrid where they will be displayed in a specifically dedicated collective exhibition in February 2018.
