Eternal City's lights go out in solidarity with Manchester

Quirinal Palace flags at half mast

ROME-- On Tuesday night the floodlights which normally illuminate Rome's famous historic monuments were switched off in memory of the victims of the Manchester terrorism attacks. At midnight for one hour the lights went out at the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and the Senatorial Palace to show Italy's solidarity with the family, friends, and loved ones of those who died in the Manchester Arena. The flag at the Quirinal Palace was flying at half mast all day Tuesday.
