ROME-- The journalists from Sky TG24 have announced a strike in response to unfair employment policies practiced by the company.

 The strike will take place on Sunday March 25, as decided by an overwhelming majority of the newsroom staff. The journalists demand that the bosses take back their redundancy plans and resume their discussion with the trade union about transforming and reorganising the company.

 “FNSI, the Association of Roman Press and the Association of Lombardy Journalists express their support of the Sky TG24 news staff in a battle to secure dignified working conditions. The trade union of Italian journalists reiterates that the redundancy announcements are unacceptable… and restates their own availability to start up the conversation again, but on the condition that they safeguard the employment of all journalists”.
