Ex ANSA scribe new Raggi spin doctor

ROME -- Mayor of the Eternal City Virginia Raggi has chosen former ANSA journalist, Teodoro Fulgione, as her new spokesman, Italian newspaper ‘Il Messaggero’ said on Thursday.
Fulgione is a 41 year old from Salerno, and was a reporter for the Italian news agency ANSA up until his appointment as Raggi’s spokesman.
According to ‘Il Messaggero’, he will be paid an annual salary of just over 100,000 euros per year, which is slightly less than that of his predecessors Ignazio Marino and Gianni Alemanno.
Fulgione was the only journalist present on the roof of the Palace of Montecitorio to report on the protest of members of parliament led by Alessandro Di Battista, ‘Il Messaggero’ says.
He replaces Augusto Rubei, who was spokesman for Raggi during her election campaign.
‘Il Messaggero’ also reports that the new head of Raggi’s political secretariat is Salvatore Romeo, who was in charge of the evaluation committee which gave a 113,000 euro performance bonus to Daniele Fortini, former head of AMA, Rome’s waste disposal company, in 2014.
