Swedish girl 'beaten' in mayhem after CNN star's party

ROME -- The other night, a Swedish woman was found on via Sistina with her nose bleeding. An ambulance and a police car arrived at the scene soon after. It turned out the woman had been assaulted by a man, who managed to get away after the attack.
I n conversation with 'Il Messaggero', the woman said her attacker had "assaulted her like a madman," and that he "might have been under the influence of alcohol." Doctors at the Santo Spirito Hospital, where the woman is being treated, estimate that she will take over two weeks to recover from the beatings.
Officials managed to piece together that both victim and attacker had spent the night at a VIP party in apartment of journalist Alessio Vinci, the well-known CNN reporter and host of Canale 5’s show ‘Matrix’.
This, at least, was how the victim, a 24 year old Swedish woman on holiday in Rome, put it, and the assault is thus more likely to be followed up by the police.
The investigation will contact all those present at the party in the hope of finding out who the aggressor was. The host of the party, who has already been contacted, says he was unaware of the circumstances leading up to the attack, which took place just a couple of hundred metres away from his place in Trinita dei Monti.
Officials from the Trevi Commisariat have also checked cameras around the scene, but to no avail. "We're dealing with a party where a lot of the guests didn't know one another. Finding out who the attacker was will be no easy task."
