ROME - Journalists from news agency Il Velino decided to proclaim a new work stoppage from Tuesday 17 to Friday, 20 Nov. against the publisher and director Luca Simoni and demand for his immediate resignation.

  In a statement of the Assembly of journalists, the workers of news agency il Velino said, that publisher is not trustable anymore. The journalists are not satisfied that he refused the contract of solidarity,to percentages that could relaunch of the agency, too heavy cuts to salaries of journalists and suspension of 26 colleagues.

  Simoni used to inform about work shifts by e-mail and telegrams at inappropriate hours. He also decided to ignore the last strike and tried to publish dozens of articles using external people. When the board asked him, who publish articles during the abstention from the work of all journalists, Simoni refused to answer without consultation with lawyers. The trade union said, that the judicial behavior of Simoni undermines the right to strike and decisions of the prerogatives of trade unions.
