Sergio Mattarella's visit to Indonesia

JAKARTA - During the speech in Jakarta, the President spoke of major reforms implemented in Italy, which are designed to make the country more competitive.
According to Mattarella, Italy is going through a process of profound renewal. In 2012, some important reforms, such as the reform of the pension system and public administration, were approved in order to make Italy more competitive - said the president in the first day of his visit to Indonesia.
The president mentioned also the end of bicametalism as "an effective institutional reform which aims to diversify the skills of the Chamber of Deputies by the Senate to speed up the legislative process."
Mattarella said that the public administration in Italy wants to respond to the needs of its citizens, their families and companies and that the goverment is finally committed to the fight against corruption and organized crime at all levels.
- After almost three years of decline, the GDP of Italy will start to grow again – said he President. He admitted, that there are also "positive signals" in employment issue.
