ROME -- Three world-renowned European galleries, Alessandra di Castro, Brimo de Laroussilhe and Galerie Kugel, are joining forces to showcase an unprecedented collaborative selling exhibition of fine art and antiquities at a historic venue in Manhattan. This extraordinary event, taking place in October, will be the debut of each of these galleries in the United States, and the first time that their masterpieces have been exhibited together. 

  With works ranging from Ancient Rome to the 19th Century, this exhibition will distinctively communicate that great works of museum-quality art can be purchased with confidence when the reputation of the gallery provides a guarantee of authenticity and quality. Having passed the test of time and the discerning eye of these connoisseurs, the objects presented are sure to expand any visitor’s perspective and initiate new dialogues between contrasting periods and styles. 

  As art world leaders and long-time friends, the three galleries will bring to New York their respective passions, accompanied by academic art historical research and documentation. By presenting a wide-ranging mix of masterpieces, many of which never-before shown in the United States, their aim is to spread enthusiasm and welcome both aspiring and established collectors to discover, or rediscover, the wonders of European art.

  The Di Castro family has been respected as antique dealers on Piazza di Spagna in Rome since the 1870’s. Today, Alessandra Di Castro, 48, is a leading authority in Italian decorative and fine art from Antiquity to the Grand Tour, focusing on Roman classicism through history. Her personal taste drives her expertise in the beauty of the materials: marble sculptures, terracotta, pietre dure, mosaics and cameos. Since 2012, she has served as the director of the Jewish Museum of Rome. 

  BRIMO DE LAROUSSILHE 

  7 Quai Voltaire, 75007, Paris 

  The gallery Brimo de Laroussilhe, specializing in Medieval and Renaissance art, opened in Paris in 1908, providing private collectors and major American and European museums with masterpieces such as early Limoges enamels, Gothic ivories, Romanesque and Gothic sculptures and works of art. Marie-Amélie Carlier, 35, who holds a degree of Art History at the Sorbonne, joined her father in 2002 and has run the gallery since 2010. A renowned specialist in Medieval art, she has expanded the gallery’s specialties to the Italian and northern Renaissance.

  Nicolas and Alexis Kugel, 52 and 49, are fifth generation antique dealers of Russian descent. The gallery is housed, since 2004, in the historical Hotel Collot facing the Place de la Concorde, which has become a landmark for collectors and Museum curators alike. The “objet Kugel” reflects their discernment for rarity and originality. Their role as advisors to collectors was globally noted during the superlative Pierre Bergé -Yves Saint Laurent sale in 2009 where the vast majority of works of art came from Galerie Kugel.
