Books: Bo Guerreschi and “Bon’t Worry”

ROME - Bo Guerreschi, the renowned author and economist from Milan, presented her newly published book about violence against women at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni’s Arion Library on Saturday, introducing her association “Bon’t Worry,” which has a mission to fight this type of violence.

Accompanying the author were family lawyer, Caterina Grillone, and the organisation’s Vice President Nathalie Alromonte, who is also the jewellery designer behind “Tahm Joaillerie.” The three women tackled important topics about spreading awareness amongst society of issues that concern violence against women, and secondly, the fundamental issue of violence against children.

“The association’s role is to offer psychological, physical, legal and financial support to these abused women,” stated Dr. Guerreschi, “but most importantly we need to spread awareness of the fact that this is a concern which must be tackled and that educating the public is an initial step.”

The author published the book “Bo(H): You don’t have to die to be heard” about her personal experience and her thoughts about the topic of violence against women in Italy. “We need to fight stereotypes of ‘ill’ men,” highlighted Alromonte.

“Children are precious and we need to protect them. We can struggle against violence towards women, and defend abused men; however, violence against children is an insult to humanity” declares the lawyer. “When mothers are abused the children are also affected. We need stop this. By defending the mother or father, we save the children who represent future adult men and women.”

A percentage of the books’ sale is donated to the association. The book and more information about the author and “Bon’t Worry” future events can be found at www.boguerreschi.com or www.bontworry.org
