Warhol goes back to school

ROME–  Restelliartco Gallery have teamed up with Rome International School (RIS)  for a special exhibition that will bring iconic works of Pop art into the classroom.

The school will play host to an exhibition that will feature original works by Pop art giants like Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and Keith Haring.

The exhibition’s Curator Filippo Restelli explained that the exhibition’s setting at RIS offered a unique inversion to traditional educational paradigms: “This is art entering a school – not a school going to a museum.” He said.

The exhibition has been organized as part of RIS open week which will take place Jan. 20-31. Open week aims to give families the chance to explore the scenic campus of RIS, meet the school’s staff and discover the benefits of an international baccalaureate education.

A spokesperson for the school said the exhibition had been organized as part of the school’s vision to maintain a stimulating and inspiring environment for families by exposing the creative minds of tomorrow to the visionary works of yesterday.

The Exhibition will be held at RIS from Jan. 20 – Feb. 6 and will then be moved to the Restelliartco gallery,Via Vittoria Colonna 9, from Feb. 9 onwards. For more information on the RIS open week contact: office@romeinternationalschool.it
