Mission accomplished: Costa Concordia arrives in Genoa

ROME-The Costa Concordia arrived on Sunday in the Ligurian port after its four day long journey from Giglio, where it was wrecked in January 2012-the dismantling process is said to begin shortly.
Prime Minister Matteo Renzi said yesterday that “It’s been a hard challenge, but it hasn’t been a happy ending”, whilst remembering all those who died that day.
Despite the journey being completed, the wreck is still at the center of media attention with several camera crews and reporters who are still on the dock at the terminal Voltri.
Although the real dismantling of the ship will start in the next 10-15 days, technicians have already begun to examine sections of the wreck in order to establish what can be reused and what is to be sent to be recycled.
Before the official tearing up of the wreck, a search will be carried out for the missing indian waiter, Russel Rebello, whose body has still not been found.
