Prince Harry attending Italian EXPO event

ROME-Prince Harry will arrive in Rome on Sunday to attend an event held at the MAXXI Museum where he will reveal the design for the UK pavilion at EXPO 2015. The event named “Great Britain in Rome,” scheduled to start at 11 and to finish at dusk, is a celebration of British music, dance and films, with activities for adults and children alike.

The British ambassador, Christopher Prentice, said “I hope this event will be an opportunity to make the people of Rome recognise certain subtle aspects of Great Britain which have previously gone unnoticed.”  Mr Prentice further added “we are proud to welcome Prince Harry who will make the MAXXI his Roman home for a few hours.”  In addition to the activities taking place at “Great Britain in Rome,” there will be British merchandise in order to create a “typically English” environment.

Meanwhile, in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture, the embassies of European countries to the USA have united to celebrate the “Festa dell’Europa” (European Day).  The Italian Embassy in Washington welcomed some 6000 visitors to see the embassy, a beautiful building designed by Piero Sartogo, which provided an opportunity to commend Expo 15.

Celebrations of Italian culture further continue with the launch “Cinema made in Italy” in Buenos Aires with the aim to revamp Italian Cinema in Argentina.  The Italian Ambassador in Buenos Aires, Teresa Castaldo, comments “cinema has a strategic role in bilateral relations, both Italy and Argentina have a long standing tradition in the film industry.”

Prince Harry will also be attending events commemorating the 70th anniversary of the battle of Monte Cassino during world war two.
