Renzi receives mandate for new Government

ROME -- President Giorgio Napolitano asked Democratic Party leader Matteo Renzi Monday to try and form a new Italian Government and become the youngest ever Prime Minister of Italy.
The head of state conferred the mandate on Signor Renzi at the Quirinal palace and the left-wing leader, aged 39, agreed to try and concoct a coalition including the across the spectrum political forces in the outgoing administration of Enrico Letta, who resigned last week after his lacklustre cabinet lost confidence for failing to implement reforms.
