For the eighth year in a row, Rome Fiumicino ‘Leonardo da Vinci’ airport was named ‘Best Airport in Europe 2024’ for the quality of services offered to travelers, in the category of airports with more than 40 million passengers. Rome Ciampino – ‘Giovan Battista Pastine’ was also awarded as ‘Best Airport in Europe’, in the 2-5 million passenger category.

With a record high score of 4.61 (on a 1 to 5 rating scale), in 2024 Rome Fiumicino ranks 1st among all 119 European airports taking part in the passenger survey; together with Singapore, it is also is the only international hub to win awards in all categories. Leonardo Da Vinci, which in 2024 reached almost 50 million transits, is also the airport with the highest passenger satisfaction among all airports with over 25 million passengers per year in EMEA and the Americas.

These are the main results of the “Airport Service Quality” (ASQ) survey - conducted by the international trade association of airports worldwide, Airport Council International (ACI) World, in cooperation with Amadeus, a leading travel technology company. ACI World analyzed the preferences and approval rate of about 700,000 passengers in more than 360 airports around the world, using over 30 indicators related to the airport experience. In addition to the ‘Best Airport’ award, Rome Fiumicino’s excellence was also recognized in all the other subcategories: Airport with the Most Dedicated Staff in Europe; Easiest Airport Journey in Europe; Most Enjoyable Airport in Europe; Cleanest Airport in Europe.

For the second year in a row, Ciampino - ‘Giovan Battista Pastine’- airport was awarded as ‘Best airport in Europe with 2-5 million passengers’ and, for the first time, also as ‘Airport with the Most Dedicated Staff in Europe’ subcategory. These significant awards will be celebrated during the ACI World Airport Experience Summit, which will be held in Guanghzou, China, on September 8-11,2025.

‘Once again, this year, Fiumicino and Ciampino airports received international recognition for the quality and the services offered to passengers. These awards are increasingly significant and not to be taken for granted, reaffirming the dedication, passion and commitment of our people – as well as the efforts of all colleagues from the companies, organizations and institutions working in synergy at our airports,’ said Marco Troncone, CEO of Aeroporti di Roma.
