School bus collides with lorry in Frosinone hospitalising four children

ROME – On Wednesday morning there was a violent collision between a school bus carrying 41 children on a school trip and a lorry in Frosinone on the A1 between San Vittore del Lazio and Caianello.
Paramedics, the fire brigade, the police and a helicopter all arrived at the scene, where thankfully no-one had been seriously wounded, contrary to initial reports. The Corriere della Sera reported that four children were taken to a nearby hospitals in Cassino and Sora to be evaluated. The children had sustained some bruising and the paramedics then decided that they were in need of further evaluation.
On the bus 41 children from primary schools in Frosinone, as well as 6 teachers, two parents and the two drivers, none of whom were gravely injured. The bus was on its way to Paestum for a visit to archaeological sites in the area, when it hit the lorry. The two bus drivers were taken to A&E for alcohol and drug testing and their phones are currently being analysed by the police to establish how the crash occurred. The children, along with their teachers were taken back to Cassino, where their parents were waiting for them.
