Pope Francis no longer requires mechanical ventilation at night in promising recovery

VATICAN CITY – Pope Francis continues to get better as it is announced that he no longer requires the use of a mechanical ventilation device to breathe at night in latest medical bulletin released by the Vatican press office.

He also has a reduced need of high-flow oxygen therapy during the day. His motor and respiratory physiotherapy is also making progress in what appears to have been so far a slow but increasingly steady recovery. The pontiff has so far been in the Gemelli Hospital in Vatican City for 35 days, with the Vatican press office releasing quasi-daily bulletins on his health and recovery from pneumonia.

After over a month of public concern, more recently the pope has released both an audio and photo of himself at prayer as he recovers, with President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella congratulating him on his recovery on Wednesday.

It would appear that Francis is now firmly on the road to recovery.
