Police crack down on illegal streaming

ROME - Italian police has coordinated with police forces around the world in operation "Taken down." The operation lead by the Catania Prosecutor's Office targeted those responsible for illegally broadcasting streams, viewed by over 22 milione people.
More thatn 270 police offices carried out 89 seraches in 15 different Italian retions. Foreign police forces were also involved with 14 searches taking place in the United Kingdom, and a further 102 searches across Holland, Sweden, Switzerland, Romania and Croatia.
Police hope that this major crack down on the illegal streaming industry will help stem the estimated 40 billion dollars worth of content illegally streamed every year.
