ROME - Jannick Sinner has won his first-round match against Chilean Nicolas Jarry. Sinner got off to a shaky start losing the first set 4-6 due to some high quality serving by his opponent. However, Sinner was able to come back in the second set winning a confident 6-3, before triumphing 6-1 in the final set. 

Sinner remains the one number ranked tennis player in the world with 11,180 points after winning the 2024 US Open. The German Zverev is second with 6.875 points. Sinner’s career continues to go from strength to strength as tennis fans equally await the 2025 grand slams starting in Australia on 12th January 2025.
