Meloni promotes Del Dio in Italy's secret service

ROME -- Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has named veteran Giuseppe Del Dio as the Deputy Director of the Security Information Department in a change to Italy’s secret services operations.
The Security Information Department coordinates Italy’s two security intelligence agencies, the Information and Internal Security Agency (an equivalent to MI5 or the Secret Service) and the Foreign Security Agency (Italy’s equivalent of MI6 or the Secret Intelligence Service). As part of the role, Del Deo will work with the current director of the Security Information Department, Elisabetta Belloni.
Del Deo was previously the Deputy Director of the Information and Internal Security Agency, a role he worked in for 30 years and which will now be taken on by Vittorio Rizzi.
