Rome public transport strike scheduled for Thursday, July 18

ROME -- Public transport workers are set to strike on Thursday 18 July in Rome as part of a national strike, Roma Capitale have said.

Services will be disrupted between 8:30 AM and 12:30 PM, impacting operations by Atac, RomaTpl, and ATI Autoservizi Troiani/Sap. Additionally, workers affiliated with unions Filt-Cgil, Fit-Cisl, Uiltrasporti, Ugl Fna, and Faisa Cisal will participate in the strike during this period.

The strike will extend to various internal service workers, including traffic wardens, ticket inspectors, and ticket office staff. However, security guards, caretakers, custodians, switchboard operators, central engineers, and central technical heads will continue to be present at stations and within the city.

This action was proclaimed by the public transport sector to protest the amendments made in April this year to the CCNL - the national bargaining agreement between trade unions and employers.
