Georgia organizes wine festival around the country

TBILISI – The annual festival ’’Wine Days in Georgia’’ was held across the country on Saturday. The participants and guests of the Wine Festival 2023 have an opportunity to taste hundreds of new wines from the last harvest, get to know the creators of these wines, and discover new flavours.
Those interested in natural wine can also speak with wine experts and importers to get a deeper understanding of recent harvests and natural wine production in Georgia. The main purpose of the Wine Festival is to popularize traditional Georgian wine, discover new varieties and places, raise the level of wine education in Georgia, and develop consumer culture.
Georgia is the oldest wine producing region in the world. Currently, the wine is produced by thousands of small farmers (using primarily traditional techniques of wine-making), as well as certain monasteries and modern wineries.
According to the Minister of Agriculture of Georgia, wine production has increased from 13.8 million 750ml bottles in 2009 to 15.8 million bottles in 2010. In 2009, Georgia exported 10.968 million bottles of wine to 45 countries. Georgia's territorial and climate conditions are excellent for wine-making.
The festival will also present a variety of Georgian, traditional products like bread, churchkhela, cheese, honey and more. The festival includes exhibition-selling and it promises unforgettable impressions today.
