Chamber music horn player shot and killed in Naples

NAPLES – A promising young chamber music French horn player, Giovanbattista Cutolo, was shot and killed in the centre of this violent southern city after a dispute outside a pub over parking a moped degenerated, police said Friday.

Cutolo, 24, a member of the Scarlatti young chamber music orchestra, was gunned down in Naples’ central Piazza Municipio, officers said.

A 16-yearold suspect was identified and arrested using footage from closed circuit television and during interrogation he admitted firing several shots at Cutolo, police added. Banal disputes over parking space often turn violent in Naples where many teenagers carry guns.
