Berlusconi leaves 100 million euros to 33 year old girlfriend

ROME - - Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has left, in his will, 100 million euros to his 33 year old girlfriend Marta Fascina.
This decision is, according to the newspaper Bloomberg, an indication of the strong relationship established between the young lawmaker and the tycoon-turned-politician in his later years. The late Prime Minister passed away in June and was given a state funeral in Milan Cathedral.
The bequest to Fascina was revealed when Berlusconi’s will was made public on Thursday. The will’s stipulations also mention the ex-premier’s plan to largely pass his business empire over to his oldest heirs, according to a copy of the document seen by Bloomberg.
Berlusconi, who died at the age of 86 after a long fight with leukemia, also left €100 million to his brother Paolo. Moreover, the ex-premier left €30 million to Marcello Dell’Utri, a close political and business adviser who has previously been convicted of links with organized crime.
Fascina, a member of the Chamber of Deputies since the 2018 general election, was in a relationship with the ex-prime minister for around three years. She remained close to him during his final months and was also in his Forza Italia party.
Though reserved, Fascina is expected to have a significant influence over the future of the party, which is faced with a transformational phase following the death of its founder.
Berlusconi, who married and divorced twice, never formally married Fascina but the couple celebrated a non-religious, unofficial ceremony to celebrate their partnership in 2022. However, according to the Guardian newspaper, Berlusconi called Fascina his “wife” on his deathbed.
“Thank you, much love to all of you,” Berlusconi wrote to his heirs, as part of his last will and testament.
