US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to visit Finland

ROME- Secretary of State Hillary Clinton of the United States will visit Finland
on today at the invitation of Minister for Foreign Affairs Erkki Tuomioja.

The two foreign ministers will discuss current foreign and security policy
issues, including promotion of the position of women, Syria, Iran and
Afghanistan, the state of negotiations concerning the international Arms
Trade Treaty as well as the results of the Rio Conference on Sustainable
Development.

In conjunction with the meeting, the foreign ministers will sign the
General Security of Information Agreement negotiated between Finland and
the United States. The agreement pertains to the confidentiality of the
exchange of classified security information.

While in Helsinki, Secretary of State Clinton will also meet with President
of the Republic Sauli Niinistö and Prime Minister Jyrki Katainen.

The Embassy of the United States will organise a Climate and Clean Air
Coalition event in connection with the visit.
