Sardinia doctors 'abused position' to get family vaccinated

  ORISTANO - Cagliari’s Carabinieri Health Protection Command (NAS) have put 15 people under investigation, among them nurses and doctors, for abuse of office and embezzlement. They accused of using their position to get Pfizer vaccines for their family members, most of whom are not deserving of them according to the categories of priority set out by the government .

  Oristano prosecutors and Cagliari Carabinieri announced on Wednesday morning the investigation into the 15 health professional accused of abusing their position, calling them ‘vaccine cheats.’

  Sardinia was the first and only region so far to experiment with a white zone, though recently were forced to jump all the way back to the red. On Tuesday they recorded 327 new cases and eight deaths from Covid, bringing the total to 1,285. At the moment, Sardinia is the fifth best region in Italy in terms of daily vaccinations per 100,000 inhabitants.
