 The final screening at the Rome International Film Festival turned the fame of the event upside down for the last day. The artistic innovations of Hark Tsui, the Chinese director of The Rise of the Sea Dragon, literally turned the screen upside down as the actors leapt off walls and onto ceilings during the film’s fight scenes.

ROME - The Ministry of Culture and Tourism has announced that, after three weeks of voting online, participants have chosen to restore Perugino's Madonna with Child as the first phase of the Art Helps the Art project.
 
The initiative, sponsored by the Directorate General for the Promotion of Cultural Heritage, allocates the proceeds of entrance tickets for One Saturday at the Museum to the restoration of a work of art chosen by users on the Mibact website.

ROME - The wines of Verona successfully raised funds at a benefit dinner in Hong Kong for Emergency International, an Italian NGO which works on global health projects.
 
The Italian wines were featured at the event, "Arena di Verona: 100 Years of Opera", this past October and several wine bottles, signed by famous musicians, artists, and sports legends, were auctioned off to benefit the organisation.

ROME - A British World War II veteran has helped musician Roger Waters locate the exact place where his father died in battle during a 1944 German attack on Allied forces in Anzio, Italy.
 
The Pink Floyd bassist and songwriter was only five months old when his father, Lieutenant Eric Fletcher Waters, was killed while serving in World War II. The internal struggles Roger Waters faced as he grew up without a father inspired him to write several of the psychedelic rock band's best-known songs.

ROME -- The population of immigrants in Italy has grown to nearly 5.2 million people, which has benefited the Italian economy with 1.4 billion euros, according to the 2013 Immigration Statistics Dossier.
 
The latest report on immigration statistics was presented before the Minister of Integration Cécile Kyenge in Rome on Wednesday. It found that Italy is now home to 5,186,000 immigrants, a significant increase from nearly 4 million in 2007.
