ROME – King Charles III and Queen Camilla are all set to partake in a state visit to the Vatican and Italian Republic, with meetings in both Rome and Ravenna, which will coincide with their 20th wedding anniversary on April 9.
During their visit the royal couple will have meetings with President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella, at the Quirinale, the presidential seat and then a meeting with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni at Villa Doria Pamphilij. They will also participate in a series of other institutional and cultural engagements.

JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia — On the aeroplane to this Red Sea port city, I noticed the absence of Saudi Royalty. Apparently, they do not fly on budget airline WizzAir. Half the plane was filled with groups of men wearing Irahm clothing (two towel-like white pieces of cloth without seams, hems or buttons) which made me wonder if I made the right decision to travel to Saudi Arabia during Ramadan. In my head, my friend’s voice repeated, “Maybe you will experience something you wouldn’t, outside of Ramadan.”
VATICAN CITY — The Vatican released a photo of Pope Francis celebrating mass in his hospital suite's private chapel, the first image of the pontiff shared since his hospitalisation on Feb. 14.
In the photo Francis, admitted to Policlinico A. Gemelli hospital 32 days ago, faces the chapel's altar in a wheelchair.
The pope spent his first three weeks in hospital battling bronchitis, respiratory infections, double pneumonia, kidney failure, and a series of a respiratory crises.
His care team announced last Monday that he was no longer in critical condition.

The impressive San Mamés Stadium in Bilbao saw a red card, foolish errors and four goals in a hot-tempered match. Roma are now out of the Europa League, a disappointment after reaching the final under former manager Mourinho in 2023.
ROME - Italian universities continue to rank highly in international university rankings, with La Sapienza, Rome, taking first place for classics. The 15th edition of the QS World University Rankings, which analyses the performance of over 1,700 universities in 100 countries, saw 56 Italian universities obtain 632 placements, a significant increase of 55 positions compared to last year’s ranking. Italy has the third highest amount of universities placed within the top 100 among the countries of the European Union, behind Germany and the Netherlands.
