ROME - Sister Bernadette, 45, of Indonesian nationality, has been arrested for allegedly stealing church relics and offerings which she subsequently sold and pocketed the proceeds. It is believed that the stolen goods principally came from three different churches in Ariano Irpino, as well as churches in Castel Baronia, San Sossio Baronia, Bonito, Savignano Irpino and Carife.
ROME - Police investigations are underway in Florence to determine the identity of a man who has allegedly raped an 18-year-old American exchange student in the streets (source: Florence Police Force).
The young woman met the man between last Thursday night and Friday morning when she was out in a local bar. She told the police that he convinced her to let him escort her home, claiming that it would not be safe for her to do so alone.

ROME - The bank accounts of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and her sister Arianna Meloni, the Minister of Defense Guido Crosetto, Minister of Tourism in Italy Daniela Santanchè, and thousands more were illegally spied on, according to Il Fatto Quotidiano.
The illegal activity was traced by the Bari prosecutor office to a former employee of Intesa Sanpaolo. The employee spied on thousands of accounts belonging to politicians, celebrities, and civilians. The Prime Minister commented on the scandal on X by stating ironically, “Give us our daily dossier today.”
ROME - yet another Italian Ryanair flight has had to perform an emergency disembarkation after technical issues - the fourth occurence in 10 days.
On Thursday morning, the flight bound for London had to turn back to Salento Airport in Brindisi a mere 40 minutes into its jouney when warning lights appeared in the cockpit. Passengers were evacuated and the aeroplane was checked over by ground crew, but no technical issues were found. The flight left successfully for London that afternoon.
