AGRIGENTO – Accused of associations with the mafia, drug trafficking and dealing, illegal possession of weapons, kidnapping for extortion and other charges, 32 people were arrested in the Sicilian city after the order issued by the DDA of Palermo.

 The arrests, carried out by the DIA in Agrigento and in other provinces including Palermo, Trapani, Catania, Ragusa, Vibo Valentia and Parma, involved a leader of Juventus ultra and and 'Bravi ragazzi', Andrea Puntorno. According to investigators, Puntorno was in contact with the boss of the mafia of Agrigento, Antonio Massimino, who was also arrested. The Kerkent operation, coordinated by the District Anti-Mafia Public Prosecutor's Office in Palermo, hit the criminal association with an operational base in Agrigento and branches, in particular, in Palermo and Calabria, dedicated to the organisation of both the operational and logistics aspects of intense drug trafficking activity, through a structured armed criminal group.

 The accusations of the mafia association range from the participation in a criminal association aimed at trafficking and drug dealing, exacerbated by the mafia method, illegal possession of weapons, kidnapping for the purpose of extortion and arson.
