Rome's travel literature festival kicks off

ROME – The 11th edition of the “Festival della Letteratura di Viaggio” promoted by the Italian geography society will take place in Rome divided in four segments, a press release said.

 The festival, put together by journalist and photographer Antonio Politano, will focus on recounting the world, through the use of literature, journalism, cinematography and music. Themes touched include migration routes, explorations and islands.

 The 2018 edition will consist of 60 events spread over the period of September with five standout exhibitions on the Orient, Isreal, Madagascar, Africa and Italy.

 Prize “Premio Societa` Geografica La Navicella D’oro” will be awarded to president of Amnesty International Antonio Marchesi and trade unionist Aboubakar Soumahoro.

 Prize for best reporting will be awarded to Diego Zoro, Francesca Manocchi and Asmae Dachan.

 Admission is free and open to all members of the public.
