Grillo attacks Yes campaign, 'serial killers of our children'

Five Star Movement leader Beppe Grillo

ROME -- Controversial leader of the Five Star Movement Beppe Grillo said Monday in his latest video blog post that the propagators of the Yes vote in the upcoming Italian constitutional referendum are “serial killers that want to attack our children in 20 years’ time.”

In the relation to the referendum, with the voting day set for Dec. 4, ex-comedian Beppe Grillo released a blog in which he records himself saying that “we have serial killers before us, people who want to attack the lives of our children in 20 years.”

In the reform, “there is a clause of supremacy, which means that the government takes all contracts upon itself. I must advise you all, this clause means that the multinationals will make their contracts directly with the government,” explained Grillo, underlining the effects of this on the environment.

“Here we are beyond dictatorship, because if this were a dictatorship and if it would let itself be recognized as such -- a Pinochet, a general with medals who says ‘I am a dictator,’ then one can organize oneself, go into hiding, become a member of the Carbonari society, react and do things.”

“Here we find ourselves with an empty shell filled with nothingness, which is selling off the future of your child, of my grandchild, of your relatives, to multinationals who will come here and take anything,” Grillo concluded.
