Police probe Naples girl’s shooting

NAPLES – Police in this southern city were investigating Monday the mysterious shooting of a 21-year-old woman while she was standing on the balcony of her apartment in the crime-ridden Secondigliano suburb, police said.

The woman, who was not identified but does not have a criminal record, was rushed to the San Giovanni Bosco hospital after the shooting last week-end for treatment of a gunshot wound to her hip, the police added.

Police forensic experts were examining five automatic weapon cartridges found at the scene to try and determine who was the gunman in the shooting.
