'Development, Not Aid!' - Talk at The American University

ROME -- Francesco Aureli, the Save the Children Representative to International Institutions, will be presenting a talk entitled ‘Development, not aid!’ for the International Relations & Global Politics Program at the Auriana Auditorium on Thursday, March 10.

Based in Italy, Aureli’s mandate is to promote policy change, allowing for health and nutrition interventions to be adopted more easily in high-burden countries with the aim of reducing child and maternal mortality.  Having also worked in New York as Save the Children’s Representative to the United Nations for the Millennium Development Goals Global Campaign, he is well versed in the problems faced in developing countries.

At the Campaign, they particularly discussed issues such as Health Workers, Nutrition, and Equity.  Mr Aureli has also worked for substantial periods in Developing Countries across the globe: Africa, Asia, former Yugoslavia, and Central America.  During this time he was dealing in particular with primary healthcare, and training programs.

The Auriana Auditorium can be found in The American University of Rome at Via Pietro Roselli, 16, 00153 Rome.  The event will be held at 7p.m. and is free and open to all.  You can register your attendance here: https://www.aur.edu/blog/myevents/development-not-aid-by-dr-francesco-aureli/.
