Renzi unveils new Cabinet

ROME – Prime Minister designate Matteo Renzi unveiled a streamlined coalition cabinet to President Napolitano Friday to end Italy’s political crisis.

  Signor Renzi, secretary of the left-wing Democartic Party, arrived at the Quirinal Palace to see the head of state Friday afternoon and told him he was willing to try and form a Government. He was expected to face a confidence vote in the two houses of Parliament next week for his line-up

 Half of the team of ministers were believed to be women while economist Pier Carlo Padoan in the key treasury ministry spearheading a radical plan to kick start the depressed Italian economy, political sources say.  

The total number of ministers in the 39-year-old’s cabinet was expected to be from 16 to 18, which is considered a slimmed down team by the standards of  Italy.
