Sicilian art showcases at the American Academy

"Imaginary Resistance" by Gabriella Ciancimino
ROME-The American Academy in Rome is hosting a new exhibition, Let it Go, which features the works of seven Sicilian artists in the form of paintings, sculpture engravings, and drawings.

The artworks are the result of a week-long seminar held by the American Academy last June in at Antonello Colonna's estate Vallefredda in Labico. The seminar was conducted by American artist Nari Ward, who also serves as the curator of the exhibit.

While at Vallefredda, the artists explored the history and the landscape of the estate, which allowed them to build new relationships and discuss creative ideas. The artworks summarise and conclude on that seminar.

The artworks will be displayed at the American Academy in Rome until Dec. 16 and are available for viewing Friday through Sunday from 4pm until 7pm.

After the exhibition, the works will enter into the permanent collection of the Museo Riso in Palermo.
