ROME - The wines of Verona successfully raised funds at a benefit dinner in Hong Kong for Emergency International, an Italian NGO which works on global health projects.

The Italian wines were featured at the event, "Arena di Verona: 100 Years of Opera", this past October and several wine bottles, signed by famous musicians, artists, and sports legends, were auctioned off to benefit the organisation.

The event was attended by the president of Emergency International, Cecilia Strada, and by Andrea Sartori of the Sartori Winery. The founder of Emergency International, Gino Strada, also appeared in a video message at the event, where he expressed his support and gratitude towards the guests.

The Consolate General of Italy in Hong Kong, Alessandra Schiavo, also attended the event which demonstrated cooperative relations between Italy and Hong Kong.

The event not only served to raise funds for the medical organisation, but it also allowed for Italian wines to be promoted throughout the world.
