Free art exhibit premieres at Turkish cultural office

ROME - The Office of Culture and Information for the Embassy of Turkey presents a new art exhibit at its office in Piazza della Repubblica that will be free to the public beginning Wednesday.

The exhibit, Permanenza: Notes on the Travel and Landscape of Turkey, features a new collection of paintings and sculptures by nine Italian artists. The artworks depict the ancient ruins, cultural memories, and landscapes of Turkey and express what a modern day trip to the country is like.

The exhibit opens with an inaugural event that features a cocktail hour on Wednesday at 6 pm. It will continue daily, Monday through Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm until Nov. 22.

The exhibit is curated by Angelo Andriuolo and Francesco Giulio Farachi.
