Milan showcases its fifth Food Festival

MILAN-- Milano Food Week is far more than what you may expect.

It is not a week in fact; it lasted nine days (from the 17th to the 25th of May) and it is not only a food affair. Milano Food Week is an international event involving food agencies presenting new products, event organizers, cooks, famous chefs and up-and-coming young cooks, bloggers, journalists, and of course, the wide range of food lovers.

This year, for its fifth edition, the Milano Food Week involved more than 150 events all around the city, with an incredible variety and the provision of non-stop entertainment for the most devoted food addict. The fair is modeled on another famous Milanese event: the Fuorisalone, linked to the international fair Salone del Mobile.

The best way to enjoy the Week is by taking part in the Milano Food Lovers: this is a big community created by Food Tank, the promoting group of the event. Everyone has the opportunity enroll in the community for free directly from the event website. The benefits? Members are able to get discounts on the price of some events, as well as have the opportunity to take part in a number of dedicated courses and to the exclusive food and wine tastings. Advantages and special promotions are available for the community members not only for the Food Week, but also for the whole year.

In keeping with last year’s tradition, this year the event started on the Food Revolution Day, the international day celebrating the culture of healthy eating, promoted by the well-known English chef Jamie Olivier. And for the following days, Milan has been full of events broaching many different themes: from art, to culinary education, from pastry making workshops to musical dinners.
