ROME - A prayer vigil for peace organized by the Sant'Egidio movement was being held Friday evening at the basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere to commemorate the second anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The Russia-Ukraine war continues to claim and to cause "new victims and new destruction," a Sant'Egidio spokesperson wrote in a press release.
Sant'Egidio, a Rome-based Catholic association which promotes prayer, charity, and peace, was streaming the vigil live from 20:00 on its website and all the organization's social media channels.
