ROME -- The Bangladesh Embassy cricket team won the 2023 Commonwealth Club of Rome cricket tournament and the Roma Cricket Club was the runner-up, organisers said.

  The teams from the British Embassy, the UN Agencies, the NATO Lions (based in Naples) and the Commonwealth Club teams "were all close behind," said the organisers.

 The enterprising Bangladesh Embassy also won a separate award for the best food offered to participants and friends.

  The CWCR Chair, Ed Mura, an Australian, has organised the increasingly popular tournament which resumed after a break during the Covid lockdown.
