Prefect of Naples bans ticket sales for those residing in Frankfurt, fearing violent clashes and riots

ROME –Tickets for the football match between Napoli and Eintracht are off-limits for those residing in Frankfurt, “it will be a war” the prefect of Naples, Claudio Palomba said.

After the Tar had accepted the appeal of the Germans, the prefecture of Naples ruled against it and decided again to ban the sale of the tickets for those residing in Eintracht. It is just the latest in the bureaucratic process which has transformed into a type of questions and answers match regarding the anticipated Champion’s League Match.

The match is scheduled for the 15th of March and with tensions on the rise, the provincial committee for safety and public order has deemed it too dangerous to sell tickets to Frankfurt's residents. After the previous match between the Eintracht and Naples in the first leg of the champion league, violent clashes and unruly behaviour can be expected, which is a big concern for Naples, the city of Castles and Cupolas and home to some of Italy’s most iconic monuments and historical artifacts. It was also reported that the Blue fans (Naples) have asked for help from the Serbian Red Star fans against all of the Eintracht fans who the Atlantini fans might join in the fight.

The “General Investigations and Special Operations Division” of the police is continuing to monitor the situation and has already intercepted telephone calls between the Naples fans, with one pugnacious Naples fan saying “there will be a war”. Naples fans are not the only ones making violent threats, with fans of Eintracht declaring on social media that “We will come to be bosses in Naples too", referring to the clashes in the first leg.
