Interruption of Metro line A causes public outrage

ROME- After a blockage on metro line A in the eternal city, thousands of people rose to the surface and poured into the streets, causing mass outrage. The block lasted for 5 hours during peak times, and was replaced by a bus service, which was not only far slower but also has a far lower seating capacity. The bus driver was also not aware of where he had to stop causing passengers to shout the stops at him.     There are only two metro lines in Rome line A and line B, which is far fewer than other capital cities in Europe. This also means there was little to no other alternatives for the people who need to reach their destination. The service was active between Termini and Battistini, and it was at the Termini train station where there were thousands of people on the street.

The disruption on the metro line has caused political outrage with one passenger exclaiming: “it is a shame, scenes like this are not even happening in third world countries. Mayor Gualtieri, where are you?”. The ‘Codacons’ which stands for Coordination of associations for the defense of the environment and the rights of users and consumers, are a non-profit organisation are also intervening. They announced Tuesday morning that: "We will present a complaint today asking to open an investigation against Atac and the Municipality for the possible case of interruption of public service,  Episodes like today's are unacceptable because they not only interrupt a service regularly paid by users, they purchase tickets and season tickets for public transport which must be efficient and constant, but cause damage to the entire city, increasing the vehicular traffic on the surface and paralyzing the circulation of buses and cars”. Even the opposition in the Municipality has thrown itself against the Gualtieri administration for the morning of hell experienced by the users of the metro.
