Inter wins the Coppa Italia by defeating Juventus

 ROME – Inter Milan has won the 2022 Coppa Italia football championship by defeating Juventus 4-2 in extra time. It marks the eighth time a team from Milan has won the Coppa Italia.

 The regular time of the match ended 2-2 with goals from Nicolo Barella, Alex Sandro, Dusan Vlahovic and Hakan Calanhoglu from a penalty kick. During the first half of extra time, Ivan Perisic scored two goals, first in the 9th minute from a penalty kick and then in the 12th minute, giving Inter a 4-2 victory.

 "It is enormously pleasing to have won the Coppa Italia. We were very keen on it," Inter’s coach, Simone Inzaghi told a press conference. “I am satisfied for the players, for my club and above all for these wonderful players, fans who accompanied us from the first Coppa Italia match to the end," he added.

 The final match was played at Olimpico stadium in Rome on Wednesday.
